Extremely slow, or loading stuck when using Iphone 16 Pro to upload files to OneDrive app

I recently changed my phone from iphone 12 to iphone 16 pro. Using the new phone, I have trouble uploading document and media files using the IOS OneDrive app. The uploading process doesnt load and it shows "waiting" for very very long time and doesnt move, i had to cancel the operation. The same file, when using my previous phone it has no problem, it loads straight away to the OneDrive.
So I can conclude it is not my internet problem.

Both my phones are on iOS 18.6.2 (the latest version). Hope I can get some technical help here. Thanks alot!

    Hi Deborah,

I'm sorry to hear that the previous steps didn’t work. That can be frustrating.

So, Even after reinstalling the OneDrive app, there's a little trick you can try to reset its internal state. Just open up the OneDrive app, tap on your profile icon, head into Settings, then go to Help & Feedback, and look for the option that says “Reset OneDrive.” That should clear out any cached data and sometimes does the trick for those persistent sync issues

Also, double check that OneDrive has all the permissions it needs to get to your files and photos. You can do this by going to your iPhone’s Settings, finding OneDrive, and making sure that permissions for Photos, Files, and Background App Refresh are all turned on.

If you’re still having problems after that, it might be best to report the issue directly through the OneDrive app. Just go back to Help & Feedback and tap on “Report a Problem.” This way, Microsoft can take a closer look and hopefully give you a solution that actually works.

    Regards,
    Carlo

    Hi Wayne,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community. I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing issue uploading your files on your new IOS devices. I understand how frustating it can be.

Alright. Let's get this thing rolling,First thing first, make sure your iPhone’s iOS and the OneDrive app are both up to date. this can often clear up unexpected issues. If that doesn’t fix things, You can try resetting the OneDrive app, it often clears up any syncing issues that could be messing with your uploads.

While you’re at it, take a moment to check some settings on your iPhone. Go to Settings > Battery and turn off Low Power Mode, then go to the OneDrive settings and make sure Background App Refresh and Camera Upload are both turned on.

Lastly, if you’re still having issue, try updating your DNS settings. Just go to Settings > Wi-Fi, tap on your connected network, and manually enter 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2 for DNS.

I hope this information is helpful. Feel free to reply for better understanding.

    Regards,
    Carlo
