Hi Mric Deal ,
I am sorry for the delayed response and thank you for your patience.
Since you have already identified and deleted the “Windows 11 environment” (~20 GB) virtual disk using Inspect Disk in Hyper‑V Manager, this confirms that the Hyper‑V VM itself has been successfully removed.
At this stage, the remaining ~20 GB reported under Temporary files is likely no longer related to Hyper‑V, but instead due to Windows system‑managed storage (for example, Volume Shadow Copies), which are not visible in File Explorer and may not be released immediately after large disk deletion.
For us to address the issue efficiently, could you please help proceed with the following troubleshooting actions:
Step 1 – Check shadow copy usage
Run the following command as Administrator and share the output:
vssadmin list shadowstorage
Step 2 – Scan disk usage using TreeSize (Administrator)
Next, please use TreeSize Free to analyze disk usage and check for any hidden or system‑level allocations:
Download and install TreeSize Free from: TreeSize Free - Download and install on Windows | Microsoft Store
Right‑click TreeSize Free and select Run as administrator
Select Drive C: and allow the scan to complete
Share a screenshot of the scan results
This will help us identify whether any hidden folders or system areas are consuming the space.
Once these checks are completed, we can advise on the appropriate next steps.
T&B
