Microsoft Edge refuses to open "New Tab" page unless all tabs are manually closed.

Strange problem that is really ticking me off. When I close Edge and reopen it next I want a clean slate. Right now, I close it and it opens as if I have "Open tabs from the previous session" active. As you can see below, I don't. However, every time I reopen Edge now it reopens whatever I had open and I have to close each tab. I've used the Reset settings option in Edge Settings. I've done a Repair in Windows Settings. I've completely uninstalled, restarted then reinstalled. Same ****. Any ideas on **what** is going on?Screenshot 2026-02-14 181706

Oh, and a follow up note, I have zero Extensions installed. It also will not let me turn off "Preload your new tab page". If I turn it off and close the browser, it comes back on with it activated.

    Hello,

Please open Task Manager and close all Edge processes. Then press Win+R simultaneously and type: %localappdata%\Microsoft\Edge

Delete the User Data folder, then reopen Edge to see if it's back to normal.
