If you have tried repairing Edge and that did not resolve the problem, or was not possible, then the best option is to paste this into the Edge address bar, then remove any 3rd party extensions you may have installed and then restart Edge to test if that resolves the problems with Edge.

    edge://extensions/

If that foes not resolve the problems, download the Edge installer from this link and use that to re-install Edge on top of the existing Edge installation.

Try the following steps in order on Windows 11 to fix Edge showing a blank screen when opening links or Help from Settings:

    1. Restart the computer
A running process may be interfering with Edge. Restart Windows, then try opening the same Help/Settings links again.
    2. Update Microsoft Edge
      If Edge opens at all:
      1. Select Settings and more (… ) > Settings > About Microsoft Edge.
      2. Let it check for and install any available updates.
      3. Close and reopen Edge and test the links again.
    3. Clear browsing cache and data
If Edge opens but pages are blank:
      1. Select Settings and more (… ) > History > Open history page.
      2. Select Delete browsing data.
      3. Set Time range to All time.
      4. First try with Browsing history and Cached images and files checked, then select Clear now and test.
      5. If the problem continues, repeat and select all boxes to Clear all browsing data, then test again.
    4. Check third‑party security software
Security tools (for example, Norton, McAfee) can block or interfere with Edge content:
      1. Open the security application.
      2. Check for and install any updates.
      3. Temporarily disable web‑shield or browser protection features (if available) and test Edge. If this fixes it, adjust that product’s settings to allow Edge.
    5. Scan for malware
Malware can cause pages to fail to load or appear blank. Run a full scan using Windows Security (for Windows 10/11, see the "Run a scan manually" section of Stay protected with Windows Security).
    6. Repair Microsoft Edge
      If the issue persists:
      1. Close all Edge windows for all users.
      2. Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
      3. Find Microsoft Edge, select it, then choose Modify.
      4. When prompted Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?, select Yes.
      5. Ensure the device is connected to the internet, then select Repair. This keeps browser data and settings but reinstalls core files.
    7. If still not working
If links from Edge’s own Settings still open blank pages after the steps above, use Settings and more (… ) > Help and feedback > Send feedback (if it opens) to report the issue, and check the Microsoft Edge known issues page to see if the current Edge version has a related bug.
