How to activate Trusted Signing in Azure PAYG account

Hi, I am trying to activate Trusted Signing on my Companies PAYG azure account (so we can use it to then securely sign EXE that we create ). I can only find its previously named variation of "Azure Artifact Signing). I and in the UK, so I believe region and account type meet the requirements, but I cannot see how to activate it. I am also unable to create an Azure Trusted Signing profile. The marketplace item does not seem to be available , and the direct creation link returns ‘Gallery item is required, no gallery item is provided’. Can anyone advise on how I can get this activated on the Tenant ?

Azure Trusted Signing has been rebranded as Azure Artifact Signing, so you won’t find it listed under the old name in the Marketplace. To activate it on your PAYG subscription, you need to register the required resource provider first.

Go to Subscriptions → Your Subscription → Resource Providers, search for Microsoft.CodeSigning, and click Register. After registration completes, search the portal for Artifact Signing Accounts and create a new account in a supported region (UK regions such as West Europe or North Europe are supported).

Once the account is created, you must complete the Identity Validation process before you can create a certificate profile. Also ensure your user account has the necessary IAM roles (such as Code Signing Administrator or Owner at subscription level).

If the Marketplace link returns “Gallery item is required,” it usually means the resource provider is not registered or the region selected is unsupported. Registering Microsoft.CodeSigning and selecting a supported region typically resolves the issue.

If the option still does not appear after provider registration, you may need to raise a support request with Azure to enable onboarding for your tenant.

Hi, Akshita, thanks for your reply. I am now seeing "There are no identity validations available.". I believe I have the Artifact Signing Identity Verifier role set up, but the validation blade is empty. Can you advise how I get the Artifact Signing enabled on my tenant ?

Can some one please help me ? I have tried to do this 3 times now. First time, I gave all the documentation requested via email, and i was told it failed ( no reason why ). When I subsequently tried another 2 times, its didn't even ask me for these, just failed straight away. I am trying again, and , as UK Co, i and putting in Companies House Reg number as "Registered Business number ( as we have NO DUNS number, and the TAX ID seems to be for US Cos only ), but is say my number is not correct, Could someone assist me please ? I have try more times, and created AU10TIX Verified ID in MS Authenticator *using my UK driving license) , but it again fails

Trusted Signing (formerly Artifact Signing) public preview is currently restricted, which is why activation and the marketplace item are not available in this case.

As of April 2, 2025, the Trusted Signing public preview has been updated so that:

The service is limited to new customer subscriptions from organizations based in the United States and Canada with at least three years of verifiable history.
Organizations from other countries (including the UK) cannot submit new identity/organization validation requests for the remainder of the public preview.
Individual developer onboarding has been paused.

Because the tenant is based in the UK, it is not currently possible to onboard a new Trusted Signing / Artifact Signing account or create new identity validations and certificate profiles, which in turn prevents activation and use of Trusted Signing to sign executables.

There is no published timeline in the context for when onboarding will reopen for other countries. The only available guidance is to monitor official Microsoft communications for updates on expansion of the Trusted Signing service to additional regions.
