When i schedule team meetings, I am left in a lobby and have to wait for one of the participants to let me in when it should be the other way around.

    Hi @Jacqueline Hogan,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I would like to provide you with the revised information as follows:

By default, the organizer cannot be placed in the lobby, because otherwise there would be no one available to admit participants into the meeting.

In this case, please review and perform the following steps:

    1. Make sure that you are signed in with the correct account that is the meeting organizer.
    2. Try signing out and signing back in to Microsoft Teams.
    3. Clear the Microsoft Teams cache by following these steps:
    • Step 1: Completely exit Microsoft Teams, then press Windows + R.
    • Step 2: Enter the following path: %userprofile%\appdata\local\Packages\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Microsoft\MSTeams
    • Step 3: Delete all files and folders in this directory.
    • Step 4: Restart Microsoft Teams.

If, after completing all the steps above, the organizer is still placed in the lobby, I recommend that you open a support ticket with Microsoft Technical Support so they can further investigate this issue.

Note: The steps below require tenant administrator permissions. If your account does not have administrator rights, please contact your IT department for assistance.

    • Step 1: Go to admin.microsoft.com
    • Step 2: Select Help & Support User's image
    • Step 3: Enter the title: Request support to check Microsoft Teams User's image
    • Step 4: Select Contact Support
    • Step 5: Choose your preferred contact method User's image

After the system receives the ticket and assigns it to an agent, the support agent will proactively contact you to help investigate and resolve this issue.

I hope this information is helpful. Please follow these steps and let me know if it works for you. If not, we can work together to resolve this.

Thank you for your patience and your understanding. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to share them in the comments on this post so I can continue to support you.

I look forward to continuing the conversation.

Change the meeting lobby settings so organizers and co-organizers always bypass the lobby.

In Teams, for each meeting where this happens:

    1. Open the meeting in the Teams or Outlook calendar.
    2. Select Meeting options.
    3. Under Who can bypass the lobby? (or Automatically admit people), choose one of these:
      • Only organizers and co-organizers – ensures the organizer never waits in the lobby.
      • People in my org / People in my org and guests / Everyone – if appropriate for the meeting.
    4. Save the changes.

As organizer, this setting should guarantee direct entry to the meeting. If the organizer is still placed in the lobby after this change, an admin should review Teams meeting policies in the Teams admin center, especially the Who can bypass the lobby and related lobby policies, to ensure they are not overriding the organizer’s choices.
