Additional meeting and call-related features and issues within Microsoft Teams for business
Hi @Timo Rissanen,
Thank you for reaching out to us in the Microsoft Q&A forum.
The issue you’re seeing usually happens when the meeting transcript isn’t successfully uploaded to the organizer’s OneDrive (for non‑channel meetings) or to the team’s SharePoint site (for channel meetings). Even though the transcript was generating correctly during the meeting, the final file still needs to be uploaded after the meeting ends, and that upload process can fail if there’s any interruption, such as a temporary service issue, a network connectivity problem, or even a storage‑related limitation at that time.
Unfortunately, when the upload doesn’t complete, the transcript file isn’t stored anywhere in Microsoft 365. This means that downloading it as .vtt or .docx will continue to return an error, because the actual file simply doesn’t exist in the storage location.
I’m really sorry, I know this isn’t the outcome you were hoping for. As a forum moderator, the most I can do here is confirm the behavior and explain why it happens. Since this is a product‑side limitation, I’m not able to recover the transcript or intervene at the service level.
Thank you very much for reaching out, and I truly appreciate your kindness and understanding.
