    Hi @Pine Littman

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Based on the information you provided, I understand that your SharePoint Designer on SharePoint Server 2019 suddenly became unusable, and you are currently unable to edit pages or content through SharePoint Designer.

After looking into similar cases, it appears that this behavior can sometimes occur due to a temporary issue affecting SharePoint environments, where users are unable to edit items through SharePoint Designer and may encounter SOAP-related errors or similar connection problems.

At the moment, this type of issue has been reported in some scenarios and may be related to communication problems between SharePoint Designer and the SharePoint server services rather than corruption of the Designer installation itself.

Since this forum does not have access to the internal environment, we can only provide guidance based on available documentation and community experience. The issue is currently being observed and investigated in similar environments. If there are any official updates or confirmed resolutions, they should be shared through Microsoft documentation or community channels.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

SharePoint Designer keeps a local cache of site files. If this becomes corrupted you can lose editing capability. Try the following:

    1. Close SharePoint Designer.
    2. Delete the local cache folders: C:\Users<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WebsiteCache and C:\Users<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\SharePoint Designer
    3. Reopen SharePoint Designer and reconnect to the site.

This forces Designer to rebuild the cache.
