New computer installed Office 365 over Office 2019 and we lost Windows Office 2019. I'd like to uninstall 365 because of the fees and reinstall 2019 which worked fine. I have 2019 on my old computer and can move it to the new computer with an external drive.

Hi Shelly, first make sure that you have cancelled your Microsoft 365 Personal/Family before you uninstall it.

Then you can sign in at Services & Subscription of the Microsoft Account associated with your Office 2019 (the one you used to redeem your Office 2019). Here is a link: https://account.microsoft.com/services You should see as below an install link for your Office 2019. You MUST uninstall Office 2019 from your old computer before installing/activating it on the new computer. Keep both computers turned on and online during this process. It may save you from having to contact Microsoft Support to activate the new installation.

    Hi Shelley, Welcome in Community

Keep in mind that Office 2019 requires a formal installation process to properly register itself with the Windows Registry and activate your specific license.

The first essential step is to uninstall Microsoft 365 from your new computer. You should navigate to Settings, select Apps, and then find Microsoft 365 in the list of installed applications to remove it. Once the uninstallation is complete, it is crucial to restart your computer to ensure that all background services and temporary files are fully cleared before you attempt the new installation.

Since you already own Office 2019, your license is likely tied to either your Microsoft Account or a 25-character Product Key. You can verify this by signing into the Microsoft services dashboard to see if the product is listed under your account for a direct download. Alternatively, if you have the physical key, you can use the official Office setup website to trigger the download of the installer for your new machine.

Install the software and let me know how it goes
