Hello @HAKEEM AJIWOKEU,
Thank you for sharing the screenshot. Based on the information provided, it appears that you are accessing a user’s OneDrive for Business documents as an anonymous user, meaning the folder or file is being accessed through a link that does not require sign‑in.
I would like to clarify an important point regarding this access level. When accessing OneDrive content as an anonymous user, Microsoft security restrictions apply. Specifically, anonymous users are not permitted to delete files or folders. When you attempt to move a file to another folder within OneDrive, the system processes this action as a delete‑and‑recreate operation (removing the file from the original location and creating it again in the destination folder). Due to this restriction, actions such as drag‑and‑drop or Move to / Copy to are not supported for anonymous access, which explains why you are unable to move the file to the “Abuja” folder.
As a workaround in this scenario, you may download the file to your local device and then upload it directly to the target folder in the user’s OneDrive.
If you need full edit capabilities, including moving or deleting files, you must access the OneDrive content as an authenticated user. To do this, please ask the file owner to share the file or folder using the “People you choose” sharing option instead of “Anyone with the link.” This will require you to sign in and grant you the appropriate permissions to manage the files.
Please feel free to let me know if you have any further questions or need assistance with adjusting the sharing settings. I’m happy to help.
