Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.
There are two things involved here:
- Account alias – This is an alternate email address you can use to sign in to all Microsoft services. For example, if you have a Microsoft account and you want to use another name (email address) for the same account, you can add an alias here:
https://account.live.com/names/manage
[You can see all of your usernames on this page.]
2. Account security information – This is the verification method you use when you try to reset your Microsoft account password or access other security-related information. This is used to verify that you are the account owner is making this change. So, you will receive the verification code on your Phone number or recovery email and enter the code to verify your identity.
In your case, the message saying "already part of my security info" means that the email address is already added to your account as security information.
You can open an incognito/private browsing window and sign in with your account here to check if the address is already added:
https://account.live.com/proofs/Manage
Ensure you have at least three verification methods active in your account.
Let me know if you are able to sign in successfully with your account.
