To regain access to the Outlook.com account, use the official Microsoft account sign-in and recovery tools and the secondary Gmail address as a recovery option.
- Go to the Microsoft account sign-in page and select the option for help signing in (for example, “Forgot my password” or similar).
- Follow the prompts to reset the password using the available security info. When asked for a contact method, choose the secondary Gmail address and enter the verification code sent there.
- If sign-in is blocked due to unusual activity, follow the guidance in Unblock my Outlook.com account. This process will also use the recovery email or phone to verify identity.
- If the normal reset path does not work, use the Microsoft account sign-in helper and the account recovery form, providing as much accurate information as possible (previous passwords, subjects of recent emails, folder names, etc.).
- If still unable to sign in, use the Outlook.com support options:
- If sign-in is possible with any Microsoft account, open Outlook.com, select Help on the top menu, search for the issue, then under Still need help? choose Yes to contact support.
- If sign-in is not possible at all, use the “Get help signing in” link from the Outlook.com support article to access the sign-in helper.
Note: If the Outlook.com account has not been signed into for more than 2 years, it may have been deleted and may not be recoverable.
